I’m just doing my best to debunk a few myths and give you the REAL facts about taking an acai berry supplement. Only then can you learn what the real positives are that it has to offer.

So you’ve come here undoubtedly looking for some information on some acai berry supplement or another. Which one is the best and where can you find it? I should let you know right now – I’m not here to sell you anything, I’m just doing my best to debunk a few myths and give you the REAL truth about this fruit. Only then can you learn what the real positives are that it has to offer.

First of all, if you’re expecting to lose a ton of weight buy buying some sort of supplement, then don’t bother. It isn’t a miracle weight loss product. The second thing that people tend to quote is the supposedly massive antioxidant capacity of acai. According to the following page on Wikipedia acai berry supplement antioxidant levels are somewhere around the same as black cherry juice and cranberry juice but below Concord grape juice and red wine. If you look even further you can find a document from the European Safety Food Authority that has noted that tests on animals aren’t enough to substantiate the claims that it fights off free radicals. Read that one here.

Should You Have Any Kind of Acai Berry Supplement At All?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not at all saying not to take acai, in fact there are some pretty good reasons why you should. They just might not be what you expect to hear. For example, if you get some form where the pulp is intact as well it has an excellent amount of fiber, and also for a berry it has a superb amount of protein. This includes 19 different kinds of amino acids! These alone could justify a purchase. Another great thing is that you can really consume it in a couple of different forms. You can have a capsule, or powder, or just the straight juice.

Acai Berry Supplement Nutritional Facts

Acai has it’s own taste and while it’s an acquired one there is nothing like it once you get used to it. While some seem inconclusive that the antioxidants do anything at all there have been in vitro tests that show it does fight off certain kinds of radicals, it’s just that proper tests that yield results have yet to come from humans. Anyways it certainly isn’t doing anything bad for you, at least not if you’re buying the right kind. So how do you know what’s a good kind of acai supplement to buy?

If you’re buying a drink, make sure it comes in a glass bottle. Make sure that your acai is certified organic; while I’m not going to claim everything you eat should be organic I definitely believe pesticides soak into berries a lot easier. You aren’t going to find any kind of “raw” acai, so if it says it on the label it is lying. All acai is pasteurized, so given the choice get some that has been flash pasteurized as this is the best for retaining its original properties.

So be weary of weight loss scams involving acai, take it for what it is and I’m positive you can find a great place for an acai berry supplement in your diet where it’ll keep you healthy and regular.

Nitric Oxide Supplements come from Nitric Oxide, and despite the scary chemical-y sounding name it is a natural occurring molecule found inside the body. It has a number of different uses but we will be focusing on its use as a body building supplement. There are some pretty unique things about it which you need to know.

A Common Nitric Oxide Supplement

I will try and stick away from the overly scientific talk here (try the following link for a description of how nitric oxide supplements will affect your body), you don’t need to be too technical to understand what Nitric Oxide supplements are and what they do. Basically Nitric Oxide is a molecule that can speed up the blood flow to an area in your body. This increases strength and stamina, but unfortunately it only lasts for so long (generally around forty minutes.) So why does it run out and how can you stop it from doing so?

There are two reasons the effects of Nitric Oxide run out. The first is that you need a certain amino acid and a couple other ingredients before your body can even begin to synthesize Nitric Oxide. The amino acid is arginine and the others are citrulline and aspartic acid. You’ll notice I said “before the body can begin to synthesize…” This brings us to my next point is that there are special enzymes in your body that actually CREATE Nitric Oxide, so you are limited to how many of these enzymes there are and how fast they go. Fortunately there are supplements to both provide more of these essential ingredients, and speed up the effectiveness of these enzymes.

Are There Side Effects to Nitric Oxide Supplements?

Before you rush out to your nearest supplement store to buy something that contains each of these things you probably want to know whether there are any side effects. The answer is that arginine itself can be overdosed on, which symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, weakness, and in some cases coarsening of the skin. If you have some sort of liver disease or kidney disease you should consult your family doctor before taking arginine supplements because it takes processing from both the liver and the kidney before it can turn into Nitric Oxide, and stronger doses of it may be something your body can’t handle. There isn’t really a solid trustable system to tell you how much to take yet, so the best idea is to use a technique called “tolerance mapping” where you start with a little and increase your dosage slightly each time you take the supplement in order to find the amount that increases your performance the best.

As with anything don’t overdo it. Taken in moderation Nitric Oxide supplements can really help you get the most out of your workout.

Resveratrol supplements could be one of the biggest breakthroughs out of any of the new supplements out there, but maybe not in ways you’d expect.

Resveratrol supplements could be one of the biggest breakthroughs out of any of the new supplements out there, but maybe not in ways you’d expect. Perhaps you’ve already had some, since it is the chemical that has people raving about red wine’s wonderful anti-cancer properties. But now you don’t need to drink that glass of wine, and in fact you’re better off without it. But how is Resveratrol made? Can you trust the hype? How effective is it at fighting cancer?

This wonder chemical was traditionally formed in wine as a reaction between the yeast used in the fermentation process and grape skins. More recently, it has been isolated by scientists from the Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum Cuspidatum) for study. Most of these tests have used lab rats or bugs of some sort, so it’s important to keep that in mind when you ready ANY article claiming anything about the effects of this supplement.

Resveratrol Supplements Come From Japanese Knotweed

The Hype and The Facts about Resveratrol Supplements

Admittedly, there is a lot of hype to this topic. Reading the page on wikipedia for Resveratrol supplements goes quite a way to debunking a lot of the huge claims. Flatly put, whatever you read, this supplement is not going to cure cancer. It has shown miraculous effects in the labs as far as slowing down the growth of tumors, but this is its strongest and only real cancer fighting purpose. Dissapointed? Well, don’t be!

There are a myriad of other amazing effects to use this supplement for. There’s its prevention of heart disease, whereby it stops plaque from adhesion to the walls of arteries. There are its preventative measures against Herpes where it inhibits the virus from replicating itself, and it has even shown effective at treating diabetes.

There haven’t been negative effects associated with Resveratrol yet, although some scientists have speculated that since it has the capability of producing estrogen like effects it may accelerate the growth of breast cancer. To confuse this matter even more, other scientists are saying that lab studies have shown it to slow the progression of breast cancer in mice.

I feel it is important to point out that there is somewhat of a backlash against Resveratrol simply because so many companies have jumped on it as a cancer fighting warhorse, when it doesn’t yet have adequate proof to back that up. It has shown that it is excellent for your heart, and you have to wonder with all of its different effects what there is left to find out. Keep in mind, there are no long term studies that have been done on Resveratrol supplements yet.
